Mt. Vernon Muggles are back and booming. Today, the wizards in training at Mt. Vernon took another step in their training to be fully capable wizards and witches, particularly in the field of becoming an Auror. Being an Auror requires courage, skill, wit, and quick thinking, all of which helps these brave wizards and witches hunt down all the dark magic doers out there. Likewise, the Mt. Vernon Muggles exercised these qualities in their first ever scavenger hunt around their school. They used their quick thinking find their next clues, their wit to solve the riddles placed in front of them, their skill and knowledge of the school to know where the clues were hidden, and their courage to face off in the final duel.
There were three groups; two for Slytherin, one for Gryffindor. Each set out on their own quest to solve riddles to find their next clues, all leading to the port key in the shape of the house cup that was hidden in the shadows in the back stairwell. Slytherin reached the port key first, where they awaited the Gryffindor team who was right on their tail, and together they took the port key back to the Gryffindor Common Room to duel. Fifty points were awarded to Slytherin for reaching the cup first, and another fifty when Michael McDonald beat Kate Weathers in the duel; Confundo vs. Expelliarmus. Before the duel, the tie was completely tied at 420 to 420, so it created quite a nail biter for both teams. However, before the final points were awarded, ten points were deducted from Slytherin because of one team receiving outside help to finish the hunt. But, the score is settled; Slytherin 460, Gryffindor 420. All in all, it was an exciting day for the wizards and witches in training, and they are all excited for another chance to win points for their house!
Keep on keeping on,
